Fund Established To
Assist AJ Firefighter In Time Of Need
Wells Fargo Bank locations are accepting
donations to fund
By Jill Jones
The News
APACHE JUNCTION- The International
Association Fire Fighters
Local 2260 have set up a memorial
fund in support of Apache Junction
Fire District Firefighter and
Paramedic Ryan Kellogg, 34, who
lost his wife Jennifer Kellogg, 23,
to a brain aneurysm on December
24, 2006.
Jennifer was born in Payson, Arizona
on October 7, 1983. She married
Ryan Kellogg on December 12,
2004 and the couple recently celebrated
their two-year wedding anniversary
with a trip to
Disneyworld on December 12. The
furthest thing from their mind was
life insurance. We mistakenly assumed
that a healthy, vibrant 23-
year-old girl did not need to think
about those things yet, said Ryan
Kellogg.
Now Kellogg is faced with funeral
expenses and those associated
with the new home they purchased
only one year ago. His fellow
firefighters have been supportive,
said Kellogg, who expressed his
gratitude to the fire district and local
union. The guys have taken
money from their own pockets.
They've been wonderful. However,
even with their support,
Kellogg said he is a long way away
from meeting the unexpected funeral
expenses.
